I haven’t got time!

How often do you hear this from others? Pretty often, I’d guess. How often do you make that excuse yourself? More often than you’d admit to, I’d also guess. Me too!

I haven’t got time for making meals from scratch. I haven’t got time for much (any!) physical exercise. I haven’t got time to get myself organised. I haven’t got time to take a holiday. I haven’t got time to relax. I haven’t got time to take a lunch break. I haven’t got time to have breakfast. I haven’t got time for a sit-down meal. Then it gets worse.

I haven’t got time to talk to the kids. I haven’t got time to help with their homework. I haven’t got time to take the dog for a walk. I haven’t got time to relax with my wife/husband/partner (reluctantly being PC here!) I haven’t got time to do everything at work so I need to bring work home. I haven’t got time to pick the kids up from school. I haven’t got time to go to the doctor. And then there’s more.

I haven’t got time to see that my parents are still doing OK.

I haven’t got time to catch up with any of my relations. I haven’t got time to go to that school sports day. I haven’t got time to take my daughter to the airport or meet her when she gets back. I haven’t got time to deal with those headaches I’ve been getting for – what – weeks now, so I’ll just take another pill. I haven’t got time to notice that people have started avoiding the grumpy stressed person I’ve become. I haven’t got time to have a laugh – and that’s not funny.

What’s wrong with you – haven’t got time? Its matter of priorities isn’t it? You’re just making excuses for not doing what you know you really should. You’re giving priority to the less important things. What’s most important – really most important – to you? If you’re not doing that, you’ve got your priorities wrong, surely? How long are you in this life for, after all?

As a Hypnotherapist and Life Coach, I’d have to say can very likely help you. I’ll take the time to help you, if you’ll make the time to see me. Or don’t you have the time?
